You may recognize Alice from our contests or as the beauty behind some of our favorite wig looks on social media. With her striking style and thoughtful approach to femininity, Alice has quickly become a standout in our community. In this feature, we’re excited to take a closer look at the girl behind the glam—her journey, her style evolution, and the wisdom she’s picked up along the way.
Tell us a little bit about yourself! Where are you from, and what first inspired you to explore your feminine side?
Hiya, I’m Alice, a 27 year old T-girl living in Manhattan. I’ve been exploring this side to me for about 4 years now, in that time I’ve been really fortunate to be able to develop my own style, explore new ideas, meet some incredible people and be fortunate to have the support of some very amazing people in my life. I have been interested in this since I was about 4 or 5 years old and like most people, it’s something that never really goes away.
How has your style evolved over time? Are there any fashion trends you love (or avoid)?
When I started I definitely put way too much emphasis on ‘louder’ looks. Heavy makeup, big very feminine clothing, super high heels. I think over time I’ve learned more that femininity is complemented by subtlety, you can definitely add louder items to your look for emphasis but keeping things basic can have a really strong effect. Subtle ‘everyday’ makeup can really draw out your hair or an outfit. Pairing a complex makeup look with something simple like a black dress calls out the makeup. When everything is overdone it becomes too busy and it’s hard for the viewer to know what to look at.
What is your absolute must-have beauty or fashion item that completes your look?
Definitely my wigs. T-girls are super lucky to be able to change hairstyles in a way a lot of women can’t. Having a lot of wigs means you can always get the desired effect. I also highly recommend investing in a good wig, as nothing stands out more than a bad one!
Do you prefer dressing up at home, going out, or both?
I’m a home bird, so I love spending time at home just practicing makeup, or doing my own little fashion shoots of my outfits. Heading out in the big city to show it off is always fun too.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their journey in exploring their feminine side?
You can’t be afraid to be yourself. It definitely takes time to accept that, but it’s definitely a tragedy to not be yourself, you’ll only have one lifetime to do it. If you feel like you need help, ask for it! Speaking to people including professionals has helped me enormously
Do you have a dream photoshoot or look you’d love to try someday?
I’ve been very fortunate to do photo shoots in some of the world’s best studios. I also love just experimenting with looks at home. I have one in Madrid coming up so let’s say that!
If you have social media, what is the best way for others to follow you?
