Shoes for transgender women
Finding the right pair of heels can be difficult. And for men to find pretty women’s shoes in the right sizes can be even more difficult. Figuring out the female sizing compared to your male shoe size can be a struggle if you do not know the conversion ratio or if you can even walk in high heels to begin with. On top of that, the sheer amount of styles, heel lengths, colors and everything in between can make your head spin. Luckily you have Glamour Boutique on your side. If you are local to our headquarters and showroom, you can come in and get fitted and have a nice hour or so to try on and find that perfect pair. For the rest of you around the world, our full selection of shoes is available on Glamourboutique.com (there’s even more choices than our showroom). You can always email or call us for help with sizing and one of our experts can help you on your way. We’ve recommended the below shoes as ideal for crossdressers and highlighted the reasons why – we’ve included four-inch pumps, ankle strap heels, stiletto strap sandals and chunky boots as some of our top shoes for transgender women. Let us know which are your favorites!
Choosing your favorite pair of transgender shoes
With a lot of different shoe styles in our store and online, we wanted to show you some of our most popular shoes.
Four inch heel Wide-width pump
This basic heel is a must for your shoe collection if you have wider feet. It’s a great sized heel for intermediate heel wearers. Novices could also learn to walk in these as well but just be cautious as walking on high heels takes time and practice. These shoes as well as being our widest-width shoes also go up to size 17 which is a rarity but a blessing for those girls with larger feet. The shoe is versatile as you can put these on with a pair of jeans or a nice dress. Casual or fancy, you choose.
Ankle strap heels
Ankle strap heels are very popular. The ankle strap is a great way to get some extra support, especially if this is your first time moving up to 5 inch heels from 3 or 4 inches. They look great when worn with a little black dress, short skirts, and even pants or jeans. You can wear these with either day or night wear, formal or casual. Again, very versatile. You could add a belt and a purse in the same color as the shoes and you will transform a plain dress into a sexy and sophisticated outfit.
Stiletto Heel T-strap sandal
For those girls looking for something open-toed, the stiletto t-strap sandal is a popular choice. The mini platform on the shoe helps offset the height of the 4 inch heel and the padded insole makes it very comfortable. These are a great seasonal shoe so put these on with a nice pair of shorts and a summer blouse. If it’s a bit cooler out, these will still work with a pair of jeans or casual outfit.
Divine Ladies Pump
A great training shoe for those new to heels, the Divine Ladies Pump has a 3 inch block heel. Similar to the 4 inch pump, the shoe can be used with similar outfits as its taller counterpart. Wear these with a skirt or dress and you will not look out of place at any evening gatherings or cocktail bars. They also look perfect when worn with pants or even jeans. Combined with a D width and the wider block heel these shoes are a must for beginners while also being a great shoe for vets as well.
Cha Cha Boots
If boots are something you’d like to explore, the Cha Cha Boot is a great place to start. The chunky five inch heel is helped by a platform in the front. Combined, these two help offset the height of the heel and make them a lot easier to walk in. These knee-high boots are perfect with dresses and skirts or even shorts. You can also use them as part of your cosplay dress-up and fancy dress since they come in different colors. If you prefer a standard stiletto heel then try our popular Stretch Knee Length Boots. If you have a chunky calf muscle, like many then get it in the Black PU which stretches to fit you.
Need more guidance on finding your perfect pair of transgender shoes?
The biggest question we get is how to figure out sizing. Since all of our shoes are in women’s sizes, we have to do a real simple calculation. The rule of thumb is to go 1 ½ to 2 sizes larger than your male shoe size. For example, if your male shoe size is a 12, then you would need a heel in a size 14 Ladies. Here is a previous blog with a shoe sizing chart along with some other great tips to help you further. Another tip for shopping on our site, we give the measurement conversion for each pair of shoes to help you size correctly.
When you decide on a pair of heels, a must-have outfit to keep in your closet to wear with them is a little black dress. It’s a great dress to start with and build your wardrobe off of.
