You can’t be glamorous without rocking some glam.
What better way to dress up a simple outfit, than with a few accessories?
Many girls choose their accessories to complement the clothing they are already wearing or the clothing they are about to buy. This way you can see how it looks and determine if you will actually wear it or not. This is a safe way to buy jewelry, instead of compulsive buying. Compulsive buying can lead to the item never being worn because of the simple fact that, it doesn’t look good with anything you own. When buying jewelry it is best to imagine at least a couple outfits that the piece would look good with before buying. This will insure you don’t waste your money and help you get better with matching outfits together. Think like a girl, be a girl.
Their is no doubt that jewelry can add a whole new look to something as simple as a Little Black Dress. A pair of simple sparkling crystal earrings, a matching bracelet, and a gorgeous necklace will not only look very chic, but will transform your simple dress into a trendy outfit. Also, bear in mind that this simple black dress can be paired with almost anything. It is very diverse which, means you can make many different outfits out of it. It is a great opportunity to really switch up your jewelry and accessories. You can wear stuff that you haven’t worn in a while.
Jewels are key to the perfect outfit, however, I should warn you that it is common of girls to overpower their outfit with the use of too many big statement pieces. The key to mastering the use of jewelry is through concentrating on one or two key pieces that will really stand out in your outfit. If you have too many pieces that standout, your outfit will look messy and unorganized.
After you figured out the perfect jewels to go with your outfit, you can add in other accessories. This follows the same rule as the jewelry. If you have too many statement accessories your outfit will look cluttered and messy. Pick one or two statement pieces to wear that complement each other. Some accessories that can stand out in an outfit are as follows:
- Shoes – try to coordinate a belt and/or clutch bag with your shoes to really tie an outfit together i.e. if wearing a simple pair of red pumps, then co-ordinate with either a red belt, or red clutch bag. If you decide on silver strap sandals, then again match the color of the bag and belt to silver.
- Belt – A wide belt of 3 inches or more will not only be a focal point of interest but will also give the illusion of a defined waist/figure. On its own, it can literally transform a plain dress into a eye-catching silhouette. We recommend ‘stretch’ belts that you can use as a partial cinching aid to give that added definition. For a belt of this nature I would pair with a some nice statement earrings or big bracelets
- Clutch Bag – Finding some awesome clutches with a great pattern can make for an excellent statement piece! Not only is a clutch bag super chic, but matching it with a pair of the same color shoes will go a long way. If you don’t have a pair of shoes that match, then keep them neutral and find a cool necklace that complements or matches the color.
- Scarves – A scarf can be worn not only around the neck but, as a belt, and even as a headscarf. These different uses can make a loud statement in your outfit. However, a couple rules to live by when rocking an awesome huge scarf: try not to wear necklaces, and stay away from big earrings. The scarf becomes the statement piece for your upper body, so, pairing it with a small purse, or belt would be the trendiest thing to do.
Well, there you have it. Just a few inexpensive pieces will instantly personalize your outfit and keep you looking flawless. Have fun with it and if in doubt keep your colors neutral, black, or white and pair with only one piece that stands out. This will insure that you match.
