Customers have been reporting back to us for some time now about the gatherings taking place at The Raven in New Hope, PA. All the girls we know that have attended past events give it 5 stars everytime. We’re always on the lookout for safe, fun venues to recommend and so with that in mind our resident ‘Girl Friday’ and intrepid reporter Dawn Gold packed up her Louis Vuitton luggage and headed south to meet some of her BFF’s for what turned out to be one of the best events she has ever attended.
The 3 ingredients we hear repeated that make The Raven works so well are Jenn Bryant, the ‘hostess with the mostest’, The Raven premises and surroundings and the town of New Hope, PA which make the trip a true CD/TG destination rather than just the inside of a club.
New Hope, PA
Over 100 years ago and New Hope was very much a small industrial town but the residents have transformed the borough into a haven for the arts and tourists and the town fosters keen characteristics for independence and non-conformity. It’s very much this bohemian edge that ensures folk from all walks of life are made to feel welcome to express themselves how they like. But don’t take our word for it – read the full report of Dawn’s trip.
“I just got back from the weekend trip down to beautiful New Hope, PA and a fantastic couple of night at the Raven. Located at 385 West Bridge St, New Hope, PA 18938, the Raven played host to one of the best parties you will find on the East coast. Jennifer Bryant was the hostess for the ‘Summer Sizzle’ event which was the tenth event she has organized.
I met up with Jennifer at the Clubhouse at the New Hope Lodge, where a small group of us got together for a few drinks and pictures before heading over to the Friday night meet and greet at Sliders in the Ramada Hotel. There I had the pleasure of meeting and making new friends from as far away as New Hampshire all the way down to Virginia.
After a few hours of chatting we headed over to the Raven for an incredible night of dancing and fun that went on until the wee hours of the morning!
On Saturday morning I had lunch in town with a very special group of friends and we proceeded to do some sightseeing around the main street area of town visiting shops and other restaurants all whilst dressed enfemme of course. The town of New Hope is one worth visiting, is a very friendly place and was a fun experience for all in our group. After refreshments in another great establishment we headed back to get dolled-up for the Red Carpet Extravaganza that was being held at the Clubhouse at the New Hope Lodge.
A quick change and we were off to the Red Carpet Event. All attending got to strut-their-stuff down the red carpet that culminated in having your photo taken, celebrity-style, whilst standing against the specially made event-backdrop. Much posing and many pics were taken on the red carpet and we all felt very special. It was such fun and yet this was only the beginning of the night’s festivities.
Next, we headed over to the Raven that was right across the street from the New Hope Lodge and so very convenient. This made is easy for all to attend both the Red Carpet Event and have a nice dinner at the Raven if you chose to.
The weather on the Saturday evening was perfect. At the Raven people were able to sit poolside on lounge chairs, relax and chat. Beverages were available at the outside bar right next to the pool and many girls gathered in the huge outside area as the night wore on.
Heading back inside the Raven, we danced the night away on the air conditioned dance floor. When a little rest was needed we could wonder further inside the first of 2 bar areas (not in the restaurant side of the Raven). There’s also a room with a pool table and a Piano Bar Room with what else……. ? …… a piano and a bar ! I wandered in to find a group of girls singing and having a great time around the piano. Everywhere one looked in the Raven that night there were happy , beaming faces.
The Raven closed at 2am and we all headed off home. I’m definitely going to make the trip again for the Raven Event 11, rumored to be mid/late September. I give it 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it to any girls as there is something there for everyone and such a nice crowd. If you do decide to make the trip, just be prepared to make some new friends and have the time of your life – you have been warned!
Thanks to the wonderful hostess Jennifer Bryant, the Raven and all who made the weekend such a special experience – I’ll never forget it.”
See you next time,
Dawn Gold
