For this look, you want to start by priming your eyes with an eyeshadow primer. This will guarantee that your eyeshadow will stay on all day and be as pigmented as possible.
After applying your primer, you want to pick a nice nude color, or your favorite lighter shade from the kit and sweep it across the entire lid. Always start from your tear ducts out to your middle lid and blend the color with your natural skin tone.
After that, you need to take your desired dark shade from the professional kit and start blending that to the outer creases of your eyelids. You want to focus it more on the outer corners of your lids and move the brush upwards slightly and then inwards towards the center of your eyelid to blend out the color perfectly. Use a very small amount of your chosen darker shade to start with as you can always add more color if you want your eyeshadow look to be bolder.
Our most valuable tip for application is to make sure you blend blend blend! You want the color to lightly fade out. This will work better if you use a large blending brush. If you do not have one and are skeptical as to its uses, you can refer to our Quality Brushes Article to find out why you should get one.
Here’s a handy YouTube video to watch which shows you exactly how to blend light into dark colors perfectly.
If you want to frame your eyes further, your next step would be to get out some liquid liner. Here, you will need a steady hand and a little bit of patience. Trust me, it will go a long way.
Take your liner and, starting from the inner corner again, drag it out along your lash line towards the end of your eyelid. When you reach the end of your eyelid stop applying the product.
Once you have a nice solid line along your lash line, you can begin crafting the perfect cat eye look. As you become more confident with makeup application you’ll find the easiest way to do this, but to start, use the liquid liner to draw a thin line outwards from the end of your previously applied liner. You want it to angle slightly upwards, but not too much.
You can draw the line as long as you desire depending on how dramatic you prefer the look to be. Once, you’re done drawing in your desired length you can fill in where needed to ensure it matches with the rest of your liner for the perfect cat-eye look!
Don’t forget, take a nice bright red lipstick from your palette and apply it all over your lips to complete this amazing look! I hope you guys try it out. If you do, send us your finished look to [email protected] or you can post your look on our Facebook page.
