MtoF Crossdresser Tips: How to Dress Slimmer?

Most of us have piled on a  few extra pounds during the pandemic.  But as we finally get the chance to go out again are there any non-diet tips to looking slimmer? Sure you can hit the gym and try cutting calories but there are also some simple style-tips to make an immediate improvement. Hide those extra-gained pounds with these simple tricks.

Make the waist slimmer for an hourglass figure

The quickest way to lose inches is to reduce the waist measurement versus the bust (chest) and hip measurement. You can reduce the waist with shapers, cinchers or corsets so that you will then lead with the bust/chest which instantly makes you look slimmer. You can increase the effect by ensuring you have a proportional bust by wearing breast forms and/or padding the hip area. This may sound counter-intuitive by adding bulk to the hips but it actually makes the waist look narrower and the overall effect is a slimmer silhouette.

Wear high-waist, flared-skirt dresses

If your natural body shape includes a protruding belly and you don’t want the extra layer of a corset what else can you do to appear slimmer? Wear flared dresses which have an empire waist to help camouflage your bulkier midriff. An empire waist is where the waist is set higher (just under the bust) and then the dress flares out from below the waistline to hide the stomach. Make sure to include breast forms to ensure a realistic feminine figure. If you have your heart set on a skirt then a Pencil skirt is slimming and pants, jeans and leggings need to be high-waisted to get that slimming effect.

Dress in one dark color from head to toe

For the simplest solution with clothing, wear all black. If you wear skirts and tops of contrasting colors it will draw focus to the waist area which for those with weight issues is a no-no. Whether it’s a dress or you are wearing tops and bottoms keep to the same dark color for the sleekest of looks. Use accessories to add a bit of color and interest to the overall look.

Add height by wearing heels

Even adding a 2” or 3” heeled pump will make the legs look slimmer and more shapely especially when wearing dresses and skirts. Pointed-toe pumps and sandals/open-toes make the leg look longer and so slimmer. Stay away from flats and rounded toes if you can, which will only emphasize bulk.

Accentuate the waist

Belts are a great way to accentuate an hourglass figure as long as a large bulging belly is not your issue. A belt strategically placed at or even better, just above the waistline will suddenly define a more slick, female silhouette. Belts only need to be small – there is no need to use oversize belts when trying to look slimmer.

Wear the correct size in clothes

If your strategy to look slimmer is to wear a size or two bigger in your clothes, you are not fooling anyone. Wearing larger clothes actually makes you look bigger. On the other side; wearing clothes a size or two smaller does not make you appear slimmer. Wearing clothes too small actually highlights problem areas like belly fat rolls and muffin-top. This applies to bras and undergarments as much as it does dresses, skirts and tops.  The simple tip here is know your correct size in clothes. If you don’t know about it, email or call us and we will help you.

Do not wear horizontal stripes or prints

Horizontal stripes make a body look broader whereas vertical stripes are slimming and will make all body-types look thinner. But choose narrower stripes than thick one’s for the best effect. Try a vertical stripe pattern dress with a v-neck which not only makes you look slimmer but also taller.

Good Posture

Last but not least in its overall effect is good posture. Most modern day male bodies have less than perfect posture. Classic female posture keeps the spine in it’s natural and ideal curvature. Another advantage of wearing a cincher or corset is it places the spine in this natural alignment. Keep shoulders back and relaxed and firm up the stomach muscles. You are now standing taller than you do in your natural male attire and so already have a slimmer silhouette.

If you strategically combine some or all of these tips, you can instantly appear up to 10lbs thinner. Choose the easiest one’s which will help your body shape.
