We’re thrilled to introduce our Eye Candy of the Month: Candy. Candy hails from the sunny and scenic city of Perth, Western Australia, known for its stunning beaches and abundant sunshine. In this Q&A feature, Candy shares her journey of self-discovery and transformation, starting from her early experiences of ‘borrowing’ her mother’s lingerie to becoming an elegant retro pinup girl. She talks about the joy she finds in dressing, her passion for photography, and how she created the persona of Candy. Whether you’re a fellow crossdresser or simply curious, Candy’s journey is sure to inspire and delight.
Let’s start by telling everyone where you are from?
G’day I’m Candy from beautiful sunny Perth in Western Australia. Perth is one of the most isolated cities in the world but we have miles and miles of glorious beaches, lots of natural beauty and hours and hours of sunshine.
When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?
Like many of us girls I started at a very young age ‘borrowing’ stockings and lingerie from my Mum’s closet when no one was home. I don’t really know why but it just felt so good, I loved the feel of the silky, soft garments against my skin and it was such taboo fun.
I was also captivated and entranced by pictures of classy elegant women in their beautiful heels, hosiery, fine clothes and immaculate makeup. Particularly I came to love retro pictures of pinup girls teasingly flashing their stocking tops and panties. These girls looked just so perfect and sensually seductive.
For years I continued to ‘borrow’ items of lingerie from girlfriends and my ex-wife when i got the chance, but the opportunities were few and far between.
As time passed I also developed a passion for photography. I was lucky enough to meet and develop a relationship for several years with a cis woman who shared my passion for the retro pinup style, and as well as my partner she became my willing model. We had a lot of fun doing photoshoots together, with me as the photographer, and she built up quite a wardrobe of sexy outfits and accessories. Unfortunately about 5 years ago that relationship ended and disaster I suddenly was left without a model.
When we split she left some of her wardrobe at my place, and so I thought why not? Let’s give it a go and see what I can do myself as the model and the photographer. I went out to the local shops and bought a very bad Halloween wig and some cheap makeup…… pulled all this together with one of the outfits which had been left….. and thus Candy was born. Initially I had terrible makeup skills and looked like something from a B grade horror movie, but I had definitely transformed myself into a woman….. and boy the transformation felt amazing, so empowering and so much fun! I discovered in that moment, in my early 50’s, that Candy really was a part of me, a fully feminine part, which until then, I hadn’t tapped into and properly explored.
I was hooked and loved being one of the pinup girls which I had always adored. I started fully dressing regularly, I got better at makeup, started to buy my own wardrobe and to develop my own style. I couldn’t believe how I could transform myself into a sexy woman, it was such a captivating experience. I also discovered the community on Flickr, realizing I was not alone and had an ideal platform to show my pictures and Candy to the world.
Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?
I am currently single. I have decided that in any future relationships I will be open about being Candy, and I would love to share my female self. I know this could be a deal breaker for lots of women, but I think from experience that honesty and full disclosure early on is the best way.
Tell us what goes into getting the perfect photo?
The best photos need great lighting, lots of smoke and mirrors and good camera angles…. lol. They also need me to be happy and shiny… which i usually do when i am Candy…….. and of course a very sexy outfit.
What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?
I love the classy, sophisticated but sexy look.
Think vintage glamorous movie stars and retro pinup styles.
Stockings or pantyhose?
It has to be stockings for me. Vintage fully fashioned seamed nylons are just the most sexy thing a girl can wear. I love the garter straps and the bumps under my dress and the feel of the vintage nylon on freshly shaved legs is just incredible.
Heels or flats?
A girl just has to wear high heels with fully fashioned stockings….. the higher the better.
Favorite places to go when dressed?
At the moment Flickr land is the place I go the most… lol
However I am just starting to venture out of the house as Candy. Until now I have very much been in the closet. Recently I have started to meet up with other girls and they are helping me get the confidence to let Candy loose in the wild. I am looking forward to exploring this more.
I am planning a trip to the UK later in the year and hope to experience some of the great clubs and nightlife there. If anyone is interested in having a tag along Candy and showing me around I would love to hear from them.
Go to accessories for a night out
It’s all about the final details and accessories. Nails, jewelry, purse……. and of course a girl on a night out needs to always wear fully fashioned stockings.
Who is/are your female role model(s) and why?
Kylie Minogue is a pint size sex bomb.. love her style… and some of her photos in lingerie are just incredible, so hot!!… She can sing a bit too!!!
Also of course sweet Bettie Page ….. she is a great inspiration and role model for any budding pinup girl.
Tell us some fun facts about yourself. What are your hobbies (either when dressed or not), likes, things you do in your spare time, or anything else you would like to share?
In boy mode I am a keen road cyclist. I love being on my bike, it keeps me in shape, keeps me sane and has given me the legs which I am told are my greatest asset. It is also a great excuse to shave your legs and body hair if you are in the closet. I ride most mornings and have a great group of cycling friends.
I’m also a guitar girl. I love playing my Telecaster and Jazzmaster. Would love to one day play in an all Tgirl group … that would be really fun … but perhaps my false nails could be a bit of a problem!
Any stories you would like to share about yourself and your journey?
I am definitely on a great journey of discovery and loving it. I am getting much more relaxed and open about being Candy and looking forward to lots of future Candy adventures.
I am really keen to catch up and meet with other girls like me to share experiences and have fun going out.
