Spring is, undoubtedly, a very pleasing time of the year for most of us. It also brings about a new season for fashion! Making it an ideal time to review your current wardrobe. —Maybe it’s time for a wardrobe update.
We are strong believer’s in mixing and matching here at Glamour Boutique. Playing around with complementary colored outfits in the Fall is our favorite thing to do. Pairing them with our awesome jewels never gets boring. Fall is also a great time for some color change. Hair color, that is! Fall makeup is also one to be played around with. So many beautiful browns and earthy tones. It can complement anyone’s face!
So, what are the trends to look out for this Spring?
Bright Red Lips: Back this Spring/Summer – the timeless, classic look, that is both elegant and
versatile once you know how to apply it correctly. Follow these hints and you can’t go wrong:
- Day or Night Wear – Choose softer shades for outside daytime wear but when dressing at night vamp it up with bolder and richer shades.
- Thin Lip Syndrome – Avoid the darker reds as this will only exaggerate thin lips.
- Eye Shade – When using red lipstick, a contrast is needed with the eyes – lighter eye shading looks best with red lips rather than, for example, darker, smokey-eyes.
- Blush Co-ordinate – Rather than trying to match a blush to the exact tone of lipstick, simply dab a little of the lipstick on the apple of each cheek and blend in.

A World of White: From blouses, shirts, skirts, and corsets; white and cream colors are BIG this Spring and Summer. Many of the major ladies fashion houses kicked off their Spring Fashion collections with garments of all white and cream. Wearing all white maybe isn’t a comfortable choice for many of our girl’s, but pairing a sexy dark brown skirt with a flowing and layered white top will look awesome. A White Corset over a darker blouse or shirt not only gives a fashionable look but gives you that much needed hour-glass figure silhouette.
Chandelier Earrings: The return of Chandelier Earrings this Spring/Summer is awesome! They instantly glam up any outfit! When it comes to Clip-on Crystal Chandelier Earrings, you can’t go wrong.
Remember to match or contrast with other accessories to complete your ‘look’. Clutch bags, belts, bracelets and rings should always be considered too – it’s the little details that bring the total look together.
Pink Accessories: Our ‘everything pink’ motto would never, NOT be a trend for us, here at Glamour Boutique. But we keep seeing more and more shades of beautiful pinks in fashion this season. A perennial spring color, pink can work for any girl’s. Pink and white is a beautiful spring combo that will look great on anyone’s complexion.
Hair Colors for the Spring/Summer: Spring is the beginning of the dressing season for many CD and TG girls, making it an ideal time to mix up your hair style. This season, rich bold colors are very much back in vogue. With cheery colors like, light auburn and butterscotch. Whilst Platinum and even warmer shades of Blond are still very popular for this season, redheads and auburn are becoming a huge trend as well.
Hair Colors to consider this Spring/Summer:
- Peroxide Blond or very light blonds are very striking this summer.
- Golden Blondes like Butterscotch are even more popular this season. More natural in tone than the whiter peroxide shades, the golden blonds are rich and less extreme than a light blond.
- Red hair and Auburn is definitely the color this Spring and Summer. Because redheads are rarer there is even a sense of exclusivity to be had whilst wearing this color. From fiery celts to some of Hollywood’s sexy sirens, redheads are always sure to have fun in their life.
Not to be left out, Black and Dark Brown hair will always continue to look gorgeous, but during the spring and summer people are looking for lighter colors. More and more brunettes alike are resulting to getting beautiful highlights or undertones to lighten up their gorgeous brown hair. The Patchy Wig with it’s dark colors mixed with lighter highlights and undertones continues to be our top selling longer length wig of the last 12 months and will continue to be a star-performer this season.
Long Eyelashes: These are really taking off this season. In-fact one of the latest fads to hit the West Coast this year are ‘Permanent’ False Lashes which are applied to one eyelash strand at a time. They last for up to 2 weeks! Whilst most girl’s don’t have the luxury of wearing longer lashes in their daytime guise, the regular ‘falsies’ are a relatively cheap and easy effect to add depth and dimension to your own lashes and they definitely create a wow factor.
So there you have it – the leading trends for this Spring and Summer. Whilst we never like to think we are slaves to fashion, if you incorporate just some of these easy and relatively cheap trends you will look great this season!
